Mindfulness for Everyday Life: The Basics

Calling all beginning meditators!

This is a 4 week series intro­du­cing basic med­it­at­ors into dif­fer­ent philo­sophies of med­it­a­tion:

Week 1: Basics of Meditation, the body scan + home­work
Week 2: Mindful Awareness of Thought — a CBT approach to Mindfulness + home­work
Week 3: Mindful Awareness of Self — self-com­pas­sion + home­work
Week 4: Mindful Listening to Self and Other using pre­vi­ous con­cepts and clos­ing con­cepts

You should come away from this work­shop with:

  1. An aware­ness of how to med­it­ate
  2. An appre­ci­ation of what is the way to expand your aware­ness of your­self in the world
  3. The tools to start to expand your own daily prac­tices

What to bring:

  1. Water
  2. A journ­al
  3. A blanket
  4. Comfortable cloth­ing
