Services
My most common question is what conditions do I treat? The truth is, I treat a wide range of conditions. The methods of treatment are used depending on the condition.
Botanical medicine, or herbal medicine, used similarly to medications to support or shift body states. Many current medications were based on herbs.
Acupuncture, or Chinese medicine, is a way to assess the body through nervous system well-being, or Qi. Needles, heat or herbs can be used to support this, as can an assessment of the tongue or pulse.
Vitamins, given by mouth or by injection, can be a way to restore missing nutrition that is not absorbing well or that is missing from the diet.
Lifestyle counseling, or changing the way you sleep, move, pay attention to your own patterns, or even the ways you talk to yourself, can be included in treatment.
Dietary counseling is a vital part of how the body receives nutrition and will be addressed in tracking or shifting how you eat.
Hormone administration, with hormones licensed in my scope of practice, may be prescribed for the thyroid or for perimenopausal or menopausal women undergoing changes in their cycling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer laboratory testing?
Yes. When appropriate, laboratory testing can be an important part of understanding your health. I may recommend conventional laboratory testing or specialized functional testing depending on your symptoms, health history and goals. Testing is individualized, and we will discuss which options may be helpful for you.
Are laboratory tests covered by insurance?
Some laboratory tests may be covered by extended health insurance, while others are an out-of-pocket expense. Coverage depends on your insurance provider, plan and the type of test requested. I recommend checking with your insurer before proceeding with any testing.

No. Naturopathic medicine is not covered by OHIP in Ontario. However, many extended health insurance plans include coverage for naturopathic consultations. Check your individual plan for details about your annual coverage and reimbursement limits.
